Fret Work: Levelling and Recrowning & Replacement

Frets wear and sometimes pop loose. These issues can lead to an unplayable instrument. We can fix that for you. Fret leveling recrowning and polishing. Fret replacement, if they are too worn.

Instrument Restoration

 This 1965 Gibson LG0 rad a broken (plastic bolted on) bridge which cause a bulge in the top Bulge removed. New ebony bridge was made and glued in place. Saddle slot cut and new fit with a bone saddle. The worn frets were dressed crowned. Varnish touch up on the body and headstock, New bridge pins and strings. (see gallery for details) 


Restored Banjolele

If it's got Strings...

This unusual "Banjolele" came in needing considerable cleaning and restoration and restringing. Metal was all corroded and rusty. The banjo head was stained dirt and grease.  This must have been stored in someone's garage for many years.

Custom Guitar Builds

Design and Build to your Specifications

Tell us what you want in a custom guitar design. You pick the wood and the and the components. We'll design and build it for you!  Designs done in Corel Draw. Drawings printed out to scale to make templates.  Once we start the build process, the finished guitar can be in your hands in 4 - 6 weeks - depending  on the type of finishing you specify.

Classical Guitar/Ukulele Builds

1937 Hauser Spanish Classical Guitar

Currently building a 1937 Hauser Spanish classical guitar. This wedged neck joint gives the strongest neck to body joint for maximum sustain ad resonance. Current build is Black Limba back and sides. European spruce top. Spanish cedar neck. Indian ebony fretboard and Indian rosewood bridge.

Handmade custom cocobolo and mahogany conert ukulele.

Spanish Classical Concert Ukulele

Cocobolo back and sides and Honduran Mahogany top for a rich warm tone. Sipo Mahogany Neck and Rosewood bridge.  Most ukuleles have glued on or bolt-on necks. We build ukuleles with the same methods as used when building classical guitars. We us a wedged Spanish style neck joint which provides maximum sustain and resonance. We also use 5 sculpted fan braces on the top rather than only 3 which gives superior volume and tone.
